Edward VII Memorial Four Face clock – Bexhill on sea seafront

Edward VII Memorial Four Face clock – Bexhill on sea seafront

Built in 1904 to commemorate King Edward VII’s coronation, the monument is a rather plain clock tower set on a single-stepped base. There are clock faces on all four sides. An inscribed stone plaque has been attached to the south face. The north face has a door. A weather vane surmounts the structure. The whole structure has been painted in bright colours.

I spoke to some locals when visiting and they said it hasnt run for a while, but that it sometimes it is running – indicating it might not be thoroughly stopped, rather just not always maintained.
